Body Contouring
Body contouring surgery includes a range of procedures designed to change the contour and address excess skin or adipose tissue in specific areas of the body. These procedures may be considered by individuals who have experienced changes such as significant weight loss, post-partum changes, ageing-related alterations, or other factors that have affected their body’s appearance.

Body Contouring
Is Body Contouring Right For Me?
Body contouring may help give your body a firmer appearance, especially after significant life events such as massive weight loss, pregnancy, breastfeeding and childbirth.
Am I the Ideal candidate?
Those who may be appropriate candidates for body contouring are individuals who’ve achieved a stable weight and bear a suitable BMI for at least six months. Moreover, those equipped with sound health both in mind and body, are most likely ready to embrace change in a sustainable life-long manner, which may better aid in producing a long-lasting post-operative result.
There are always risks and complications associated with every surgery, which will be discussed with you during your preoperative consultations. Our approach is always designed with your anatomy and needs in mind, with the aim of addressing loose skin areas to help tighten targeted areas of concern to you. It is common in our practice to employ liposuction and/or muscle repair techniques during surgery as an adjunct to this procedure.
After Surgery
Post body contouring, an abdominal binder needs to be worn for about 8-10 weeks. Most patients would expect to stay in hospital for 2-3 nights, followed by a few weeks of rest and healing. Swelling can sometimes take up to 10-12 weeks to settle, and it can take a staggered approach during that period to return to heavy physical activities and exercise.
Risks and Complications
As with any surgical procedure, body contouring surgeries all carry potential risks. These may include (but are not limited to):
- Bleeding and haematoma
- Infection
- Abnormal scarring (hypertrophic or keloid)
- Seroma (fluid accumulation)
- Wound healing issues
- Changes in sensation (numbness or hypersensitivity)
- Asymmetry in contour
We will thoroughly discuss these risks during your consultation to ensure you have realistic expectations and feel confident in your decision.

Procedures
Which Body Contouring Surgery?
Upper Body Lift
The upper body lift aims to tighten and change the shape of the breasts, chest, and mid-back, addressing areas like upper abdominal and upper back excess skin with grace and precision.
Lower Body Lift (Circumferential Abdominoplasty)
Delving deeper, the lower body lift seeks to tighten the curves of the lower to central abdomen, buttocks, outer thighs, and lower back. This involves an incision that circles the body, each uniquely tailored to the patient, potentially paired with muscle repair techniques.
Mini-abdominoplasty
This procedure focuses on the lower abdomen, aiming to tighten the skin of the lower abdomen without a scar around the umbilicus as would a full Abdominoplasty procedure. Liposuction can be combined with this procedure to achieve a better contour in targeted areas.
Full Abdominoplasty
A more comprehensive approach than the mini-Abdominoplasty , this procedure tighten the front centre to lower parts of the abdomen, even addressing the position of the navel to achieve a harmonious result.
Extended Abdominoplasty
Venturing beyond the abdomen, this procedure extends its touch to the sides of the hips, if there is skin laxity which extends to that area.
Fleur De Lis Abdominoplasty
With an inverted-T scar pattern, this approach is as unique as the flower it’s named after, targeting specific needs and outcomes.
